Privacy Policy
Kickline is a mobile rhythm game made by Nicolaj Hansen, an independent developer in Denmark ("I", "me"). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and what choices you have.
In short: Kickline doesn't ask for your name, email or any account, and your game progress stays on your device. The free game shows ads from Google AdMob, and the optional "Remove Ads" purchase is handled by Apple and verified through RevenueCat. Those two services process some data, as described below, and you control ad personalization and tracking.
1. Information stored on your device
The game saves the following on your device:
- levels cleared, stars, scores, grades and experience points
- your chosen icon color and face, and the sound setting
- total play time, so ads stay away during your first few minutes
- the path of your best run, shown as a guide line
- whether you bought Remove Ads
This information isn't sent to me. Deleting the app deletes it.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of Kickline shows ads:
- a banner on the menu screens
- occasional full-screen ads between runs
- optional ads you can choose to watch for double experience points
The ads are provided by Google AdMob. For users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, that's Google Ireland Limited; elsewhere it's Google LLC.
To show and measure ads, Google may collect:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking
- your IP address, which is used to estimate your general location
- device and app information, such as model, operating system, language and app version
- how you interact with ads, such as views and taps
- diagnostic data
Google uses this to:
- show ads and limit how often you see the same one
- measure ad performance
- prevent fraud
- show personalized ads, only if you agree
Your choices:
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the game asks for your consent the first time you open it, using Google's consent message. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings > Privacy settings.
- On iPhone and iPad, Apple asks whether Kickline may track you. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your advertising identifier isn't shared. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Non-personalized ads still use limited data for measurement and fraud prevention.
To learn more, see how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
3. The Remove Ads purchase (Apple and RevenueCat)
The one-time "Remove Ads" purchase is processed by Apple. I never see your payment details.
To confirm and restore purchases, the game uses RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives:
- an anonymous user ID created by the app
- the purchase information from Apple
- basic device and app information, such as operating system, app version and country or region
The game also sends RevenueCat a record of the ad revenue it earns (the ad format and the amount), linked to the same anonymous ID, so that I can see the game's income in one place.
See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
4. What Kickline doesn't do
- It has no account or sign-up, and it never asks for your name, email, contacts, photos, microphone or precise location.
- It contains no analytics or tracking tools other than the services named above.
- I don't sell your personal information.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Personalized ads and the advertising identifier: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Non-personalized ads, measurement and fraud prevention: my legitimate interest in funding a free game and keeping its ads safe.
- The Remove Ads purchase: performing the purchase you asked for.
6. How long information is kept
Information on your device is kept until you delete the app. Google and RevenueCat keep data according to their own policies, linked above.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access, correct or delete personal information
- restrict or object to its use
- receive a copy of it
- withdraw consent
Kickline doesn't send me personal information, so most choices are made directly:
- in the game's Privacy settings
- in iOS tracking settings
- by deleting the app
- through Google or RevenueCat
If you need help, contact me and I'll assist.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Denmark, that's Datatilsynet; elsewhere, it's your local authority.
8. Children
Kickline isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact me and I'll help remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
